Yuri Hirayama leads the Yuri Education Center as Chief Sustainability Officer, School Director, and Principal Educator, championing a mission to weave sustainability, education, and empowerment into the fabric of her programs. Her initiatives focus on critical global challenges such as gender equality, resource repurposing, and cultural heritage preservation, instilling a proactive and aware culture among students and the wider community. Students are engaged in a dynamic learning environment where they explore science, sustainability, and English, encouraging them to identify issues, set goals, and drive change.
In addition to her educational roles, Yuri's "Yuria’s Happy English" program engages young learners and parents with English through songs and stories that incorporate sustainability themes. She also facilitates workshops on SDG 12, "responsible consumption and production," and hosts Zoom sessions with global experts to foster open dialogue and experiential learning across all 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Yuri’s commitment to education as a tool for global peace and sustainability is evident in her holistic approach to teaching and community engagement.
