Susan Kruger

Susan Kruger Winter shared real-world strategies at the Education 2.0 Conference to boost learning through confidence, emotional readiness, and executive function.

Las Vegas, USA, August 1, 2025 — The Education 2.0 Conference, held at the Luxor Hotel from March 4 to 6, 2025, welcomed global education changemakers committed to inclusive and student-centered learning. Among the featured speakers was Susan Kruger Winter, CEO & Co-founder at SOAR Learning, Inc., along with an educator and curriculum expert whose work focuses on executive function, study skills, and social-emotional development.

Susan Kruger Winter, ME, is a certified learning specialist and author of SOAR® Learning & Soft Skills, the world’s bestselling study skills book. She is also the author of Cue to Reading and Education Reform: A Blueprint for Human-Friendly Education. Specializing in employability skills, soft skills, and literacy, she advises global workforce and education organizations. Her programs are used in more than 4,500 US schools and across 50 countries. Recognized by Microsoft Partners in Learning University as a “Global Expert in Education Innovation,” Susan is also a wife to a fellow educator and a mother to two children with learning differences.

In her keynote, titled “Make The Invisible, Visible: Revealing The Simple Elements Of Learning,” Susan introduced the Learning Success Pyramid. She explained that learning begins with confidence and motivation, followed by executive function. These components create the foundation students need in order to connect new information to what they already know. Without these layers, she said, students struggle to retain or apply what they learn.

Susan also joined the panel discussion “Strengthening Advocacy Efforts For Neurodiverse Students,” where she expanded on executive function as the gateway to comprehension. She described it as a set of mental processes that help students regulate emotions, plan tasks, manage time, and make informed decisions. She advocated for integrating executive function training into education beginning in elementary school.

Susan noted that her curriculum is written in the first person to build emotional connection and support students in feeling seen and encouraged. When asked about competing with larger education providers, she emphasized the importance of authenticity. Genuine care, she said, has lasting value that cannot be replaced by scale.

Through both her keynote and panel remarks, Susan Kruger Winter reminded attendees at the education event that emotional readiness, cognitive scaffolding, and student empowerment are essential to lasting academic success.
