a — The Education 2.0 Conference, held at Luxor Hotel & Casino from March 4 to 6, 2025, welcomed global voices working to advance educational innovation. Among them was Dr. Tandria Callins, CEO & Principal at Language & Literacy Academy For Learning, Inc., which exclusively serves students with disabilities.

With a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt in Education, Dr. Tandria Callins excels in operational management, running a charter school for students with disabilities. She is also deeply involved in community service, holding board member and leadership roles in organizations like Girls Inc., the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. Dr. Callins is a published author, master presenter, and professional business coach. She balances a dynamic professional and personal life while maintaining a positive outlook on life’s challenges.

Her keynote, titled “Empowering Special Education: How Women Of Color In The C-Suite Leverage AI,” examined how artificial intelligence can personalize instruction, support inclusion, and empower school leaders. She cited tools such as adaptive assessments, real-time transcription, and eye-tracking software that help tailor learning to individual needs. At her school, programs like Read 180 and Math 180 are used to align with students' IEP goals and promote measurable growth.

Dr. Callins also emphasized the importance of women of color in educational leadership, pointing to innovators like Dr. Mon’Nique Davis Smith and Dr. Fatima Kaba, who are using AI to drive change in special education. She called for broader representation, more funding for diverse-led initiatives, and community-centered innovation.

In addition to her keynote, Dr. Callins joined the panel discussion “Strengthening Advocacy Efforts For Neurodiverse Students.” She voiced concern over potential cuts to Title I, IDEA, Medicaid, and school nutrition programs, noting how such changes would threaten essential services. She explained how her school incorporates advocacy into its culture by teaching students to understand and advocate for their IEP accommodations from an early age.

Dr. Callins concluded with a powerful reminder that advocacy, leadership, and innovation must work in tandem to ensure equity in special education. Through both her keynote and panel participation, she encouraged educators to center student voices, protect critical resources, and lead with purpose. Her message inspired attendees at the education event to take action in their communities and champion inclusive practices that create lasting impact.
